Instructions for students
All degree, doctoral and exchange students from the member higher education institutions can apply for the courses. You must have a right to study at your home higher education institution. In addition, you must have registered for attendance at your home higher education institution. Before applying for the course, remember to check that your right to study does not expire before completing the course through the network.
You can mainly apply for the courses twice during the academic year. A student can apply for both autumn and spring semester courses in August. In November, it is only possible to apply for spring semester courses. The application dates are updated to the front page and Courses-page.
To apply for the courses, you must fill an application form. Every member higher education institution has separate application forms. Every higher education institution has their own application forms on their course page.
You must provide the requested information in the form. Please pay attention to the email address you give in the form. It must be the email address of your home higher education institution.
After filling the application form, you will be granted the right to study for a course or courses. After the right to study has been granted, you will receive a username to the systems, such as Peppi or Sisu, of the organizing higher education institution. With the username, you have access to the library database of the organizing higher education institution.
After you have received a username, you must register in the course or courses in the study information system of the organizing higher education institution. The course registration must be done during the registration period. The course teacher accepts registered students in the course after the course registration has ended.
In the most courses offered through the network, all applied students are accepted to the courses. The number of participants may be limited in some courses. In these kinds of courses, only limited number of participants can be accepted through the network. You can check from the course descriptions of the courses if there are any participant limitations in the courses.
There are courses for different levels. There are courses for different levels. Therefore, it is important that you evaluate your readiness to take the course that you are interested in before the registration. There may be recommendations from previous studies in some courses. If there are recommendations, they are provided in the course description of every course.
If the number of participants is not limited in the course, you do not have to cancel the registration. However, canceling the registration is recommended. The number of participants may be limited in some courses. You must cancel the registration if the course you have registered in has any limitations in the number of participants. You can cancel the course registration in the study information system of the organizing higher education institution. If the course registration has ended, you can inform course teacher that you won’t attend the course.
After you have completed the course, you will receive study credits in the study information system of the organizing higher education institution. In order to get the study credits transferred to your degree, you must download your transcript of studies from the system and deliver it to your home higher education institution. It is highly recommended to download the transcription as soon as possible after you have received credits in system of the organizing higher education institution. Please check the guidelines of your higher education institution for transferring the credits.
