Sustainability studies network was established in 2022 by University of Eastern Finland, University of Jyväskylä and University of Turku. The course selection is versatile and multidisciplinary. The courses offered through the network are open for all degree, doctoral and exchange students of the member higher education institutions. Currently, the following higher education institutions are the members of the network:
- University of Helsinki
- University of Eastern Finland
- University of Jyväskylä
- LAB University of Applied Sciences
- University of Lapland
- University of Oulu
- University of Turku
- University of Vaasa
A student may choose one course or more based on their own interest from the course listing. A student has an opportunity to broaden their knowledge on environmental and sustainability themes by studying courses from the member higher education institutions. The courses are suitable for every student regardless of their major or level of studies.
There are courses with different requirement levels. When applying for different courses, a student should consider their study skills and previous learning experiences if they intend to take, for instance, an advanced-level course. Modes of study vary between the courses. Most courses are either online or remote teaching but there are also courses that include contact teaching. The course listing can be found from Courses-page.
The courses studied through the network cannot be accepted as a minor and are not automatically included in a student’s degree. If a student wants to include the courses completed through network in their major or minor studies, they should contact their supervisor at their home higher education institution. Alternatively, a student can study courses through the network without including them in any degree.

The application dates are updated to the front page and Courses-page. Every higher education institution has their own application forms for their courses.
